Peter Sagan and Chris Froome provided a memorable finale to stage 11 of the 2016 Tour de France, with their late stinging attack foiling the peloton on a windswept day into Montpellier.
Sagan took stage honours and an increased lead in the points classification, while Froome earned a handful more seconds on his GC rivals to go 28 seconds clear in the yellow jersey.
It was an enthralling end to a dramatic stage, where crosswinds had wreaked havoc on the peloton – with the late drama proving the merits of making the race as opposed to waiting for something to happen.
