Peter Sagan (Cannondale Pro Cycling) has a special affinity with Switzerland.
Don’t expect to find the Slovak swapping lycra for lederhosen, or his Super Six Evo for an Alpenhorn, but in all other regards, his love affair with the Tour de Suisse shows no signs of wilting.
Today’s victory, his seventh in his last three years at the race, came as a result of scaling a first category ascent with the GC contenders – not bad for a sprinter.
The treacherous descent played into his hands (Sagan is a supreme bike handler), and by the time they reached the flat finish in Meiringe, his three breakaway companions must have known the writing was on the wall.
Our man Sirotti was there to capture the action, and bring you these superb images.
