Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) endured a tough start to the 2014 season, first seeing Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) pip him to People’s Choice Classic victory before Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) outsprinted him in stage one of the Tour Down Under.
However, the German champion has bided his time and showed why he is still such a feared sprinter, conquering the crosswinds to power to an emphatic victory in Victor Harbour.
On hand to capture his first win of the season, and 15th career victory in this race, was photographer Stefano Sirotti.
