Alexander Kristoff (Katusha)
Alexander Kristoff is one of the peloton’s form sprinters so far this season, with his second place at Milan-San Remo the seventh time he has been on the podium this season.
The Norwegian ace won three times in Qatar, once in Oman and once at Paris-Nice, and has already proved his form on the cobbles with second at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.
The 27-year-old has slowly been proving himself as a Classics contender too, with top-five finishes at the Tour of Flanders in both of the last two seasons.
At Gent-Wevelgem he is yet to make quite the same impact, but if he can stay with the bunch over the climbs he has more than enough to take victory.
Add to that his hunger to avenge defeat to Degenkolb in San Remo, and the stunning form team-mate Luca Paolini showed in the same race, and Kristoff is definitely likely to be among the front runners.
