Tour of Britain 2014: British domestic riders who could make their mark

The men flying the flag for the home UCI Continental teams

Kristian House, Rapha Condor JLT’s long-serving, British-born but American-raised ace, has enjoyed success in the past at the Tour of Britain.

A former national champion, House was crowned King of the Mountains in 2012 and wore the jersey again last year – despite admitting to RCUK it had not even been a target.

Kristian House savours his triumph after outsprinting Mark Christian in Stamfordham at the Beaumont Trophy

His penchant for attacking is well-known, and House will certainly feature in a few breaks this week as Rapha Condor JLT showcase what is a very strong team.

He has already been successful at the Beaumont Trophy this year, beating Mark Christian (Raleigh) in a two-up sprint after the two escaped from the front group on the final lap.

Capable over the short, punchy climbs and at home in the break, at the very least House will be flying his team’s colours over the course of the next week.
