Mark Cavendish was among the assembled guests at Paris’ Palais des Congres as the 2015 Tour de France route was officially announced.
With Utrecht set to host next year’s Grand Depart, an intriguing route has been revealed which features cobbles, Alpe d’Huez and iconic summit finishes but just one individual time trial.
And there was good news for Cav, Marcel Kittel and Alexander Kristoff too, all of whom were in Paris, with an overhaul to the points classification scoring system having been announced.
