Michael Rogers fulfils lifelong dream by earning first Tour stage win

As he crossed the finish line, bowing, Michael Rogers (Tinkoff-Saxo) completed a lifelong – the first Tour de France stage win of his career.

It completed an amazing comeback for both the Australian on a personal level, after his provisional suspension for doping was lifted and he was cleared of any wrongdoing earlier this season, and for the team who lost their leader, Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo), to injury.

Team boss Oleg Tinkov was understandably a very happy man after the stage, as was El Pistolero himself as he watched proceedings unfold from home.
