Tour de France 2014: stage 18 – rider reaction

Vincenzo Nibali bids farewell to Pyrenees with stunning win

Paris is in sight for the riders of the Tour de France, with the final day in the Pyrenees over and just three stages remaining.

An enthralling three days in the Pyrenean mountains ended with Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) doing exactly what he had done in the Vosges and the Alps – proving his class with a stunning solo win.

The stage also saw Rafal Majka (Tinkoff-Saxo) seal the polka dot jersey and French duo Thibaut Pinot (FDJ.fr) and Jean-Christophe Peraud (Ag2r-La Mondiale) move into the provisional podium spots.

The rest of the peloton, meanwhile, breathed a huge sigh of relief as they tackled the final brutal climb of this year’s race – the Hautacam.

We have rounded up the best post-stage reaction below.
