Nearly a week into this 101st Tour de France and there has yet to be a quiet stage.
Each has been packed with incident, giving the riders plenty to comment upon when their day’s work is done.
Stage seven was no different, with crashes, especially that of Garmin-Sharp’s Andrew Talanksy, who hit the deck hard in the finishing sprint after an extended look to his right, dominating the riders’ Tweets.
There were more than a few displays of camaraderie too, and acknowledgement among the riders of the efforts of rival teams. Oh, and a health update from a certain Team Sky rider.
We’ve rounded up the best of the peloton’s Twitterati below.
MRIs done, confirmed fractures to the left wrist & right hand. Time for some R&R…

Gerrans just offered apology. All good. Thank you @ORICA_GreenEDGE.

In no sprint do you look around like that. Gerrans sprinted straight–watch the white line. Not his fault. #controversialtweet

Also – @ORICA_GreenEDGE – Andrew (we)realize it wasn’t all Simon’s fault. A bit of the fog of war. Apologies all around. Onward.

Really disappointed about my puncture on the last climb. Had real good legs and was ready to fight for win today. #BestLegsOfTour

That wasn’t my plan today.. Ended up hitting the barriers hard at 900m to go! Result of that a broken nose and again a broken left finger!
