Tour de France 2014: stage ten – rider reaction

Reaction as Alberto Contador crashes out and Vincenzo Nibali reclaims the yellow jersey

The favourite crashing out, the yellow jersey changing hands again and one of the world’s best climbers proving he is back on form.

Stage ten certainly provided the Bastille Day crowds with plenty to enjoy as the Tour de France peloton tackled La Planche des Belles Filles.

And with the promise of the first rest day of this year’s race on the cards after the brutal, gruelling day in the saddle it offered the perfect chance to take stock of proceedings.

So what did the riders make of Vincenzo Nibali taking the yellow jersey and Alberto Contador abandoning with a fractured tibia?
