Aged just 21 when the 2013 season began, Demare has shown his outrageous talent during the season, capped by victory in a bunch sprint at the RideLondon-Surrey Classic in August. Although Demare has raced more prestigious events this year, the class of field on show in London, and the nature of his victory, provided an impressive display of his potential.

Having also bagged the second WorldTour victory of his career at the Tour de Suisse, and won three consecutive stages at the Four Days of Dunkirk – on his way to winning the general classification in the latter – Demare has come to the fore this year. His palmares now steadily growing, with victories over some elite riders along the way, Demare’s performances in 2013 have highlighted he is certainly a name to watch in the future.
