A two-day ride across London and its green surroundings will be held on May 19 and May 20.

The London Revolution will take in Box Hill and Herne Hill Velodrome

The London Revolution will be organised by the team behind the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, and is expected to attract some 2,500 riders.

Day one will see riders take on 100 miles of scenic back roads from the north of the capital and then head west from the Isle of Dogs to Windsor before stopping for an overnight ‘camp and party’.

The following day, the riders will cover the south and east of the capital, including Box Hill and the Herne Hill velodrome before crossign Tower Bridge and finishing at the Excel centre in Canary Wharf.

Organiser, Andy Cook, said: “Above all, the ride is designed to be accessible for people who might be new to cycling and are looking for a challenge. Maybe it’s to fund-raise for charity, maybe it’s to lose a few pounds or maybe it’s to justify a few well earned ales after riding 100 miles in one day.

“However, it is also a uniquely challenging route for those who know their Ultegra from their Dura Ace with a section up Box Hill that will be featured in the Olympic Road Race where you can live out your King of the Mountains dreams.”
