Organisers of the Forest of Dean Classic sportive have announced a new date for this year’s event.
The sportive, originally set to take place on Bank Holiday Monday, will instead take place on Sunday July 13. Over-running roadworks, and another event on the same day meaning re-routing the Classic was not an option, are the reasons behind the switch to summer.

The tenth edition of the sportive will also now move its headquarters back to Monmouth town centre, which will hosts the start and finish of the 90-mile course and the new 62-mile ride.
The former features 20 individual climbs and a total of more than 8,000ft of climbing while the latter still contains more than 6,000ft of climbing.
Both routes include the leg-sapping slog up Symonds Yat, with a maximum gradient approaching 25 per cent on the climb, which comes within ten miles of the finish of both courses.
