Entry for Rapha’s annual Paris-Roubaix tribute ride, the Hell of the North sportive, goes live on Wednesday (March 16).
The ride, now in its seventh year, takes its name from the iconic cobbled race of Northern Europe and winds its way through the lanes and trails of Hertfordshire on the same day, Sunday April 10.
Instead of the pavé of France’s iconic race, however, riders on Rapha’s Hell of the North have to take on the gravé – farm tracks, bridleways, footpaths and similar.
Three hundred spaces are available for this year’s ride, with 200 allocated to Rapha Cycling Club members and a further 100 open to the public.
The ‘barnstorming, white-knuckle tour’ tackles 95km of Hertfordshire’s toughest country lanes, rolling out of Highgate, with 19 new sectors awaiting.
Public tickets, which cost £10 and include a special edition 2016 HOTN cap and Belgian beer and frites at the pub, will be allocated via a lottery draw, which can be entered from Wednesday March 16 to Friday March 18.
If selected, all places must then be confirmed over the weekend, or they will be reallocated.
