Motivation can be tough when the weather is poor and the prospect of a cold, wet solo ride is the last thing you fancy.
Joining a club, therefore, could be an easy way to address the issue – offering the chance to join like-minded people to share your passion for all things two-wheeled.
A cold, wet Sunday with a group of friends or a quick blast in the woods or on the turbo is much more enjoyable than going solo.
British Cycling boasts more than 1,500 affiliated clubs, most of whom will have a weekend club run – with different groups seeded according to speed.
With different clubs offering different sizes, disciplines and opportunities it could be worth shopping around if you have the choice too – with British Cycling’s online club finder tool a great place to start.
Joining a club isn’t for everyone, of course, but with many offering the chance to join a few rides before committing long-term it is well worth giving your local conglomerate of wheelers a chance.
