The Lupus 50/50 winter sportive will take place on Sunday January 27, offering 50km and 50-mile routes on the roads surrounding Cannock Chase.
The event starts from the Run & Ride shop in Cannock, Staffordshire, and all proceeds after costs will go to the Hibbs Lupus Trust. Both routes will be signposted and riders will return to Run & Ride, where drinks and cake will be provided along with a raffle.
“The route will focus on taking in some of the roads we love to ride ourselves, based mainly on back roads and small lanes where we love to get away from the traffic of the busy roads,” event organiser Neil Scriven told us.
“Heading out over Cannock Chase, the course will be fairly hilly to start with but the remainder of the route will be easier and rolling.
“Each year our friends and family spend hours locked away in the kitchen coming up with some amazing cakes especially for the event. These will be given away free with a hot drink to each rider in exchange for your refreshment voucher.”
Run and Ride HQ will provide plenty of free car parking, toilets, changing rooms, spares and secure bike storage.
Entry costs £7.50 in advance or £10.00 on the day. Sign-up at www.gorunandride.co.uk
