Six ways to make the most of the end of summer on the bike

Put your late-season form to good use

Ride a century

If you haven’t yet logged a century in 2014, then now is the time to do it, with the weather still on our side and more than enough daylight hours to ride at social pace.

Completing your first century is a rite of passage and, by and large, any regular cyclist can ride 100 miles in a day, so if you’re yet to tick a century off your to-do list then make plans now.

And if you’re an experienced rider with many centuries in the legs, then you’ll know the satisfaction of rolling off the driveway in the morning and returning hours later having ridden 100 miles. Alternatively, have a crack at the Tommy Godwin Challenge – 205 miles in a day.
