Team Sky’s Richie Porte will open this year’s The Cycle Show at the NEC Birmingham, welcoming show-goers when the doors open on Friday September 25.
The Australian ace, winner of this year’s Paris-Nice and part of Chris Froome’s Tour de France-winning squad – as he was in 2013 too – will then join ITV reporter Ned Boulting for a live Q&A session later in the day.
And Porte – who is set to leave Team Sky this winter to pursue his own GC ambitions – is not the only big name already confirmed for the show.
Irish legends Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche, hardman Jens Voigt and former Paris-Roubaix winner Magnus Backstedt will also all be in attendance, as will trials icon Martyn Ashton.
Porte said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting The Cycle Show this year. I’ve enjoyed it when I have had a chance to ride in Britain, so it will be great to meet some of the British cycling fans that have supported me throughout my career.”
Taking place from Friday September 25 to Sunday September 27, The Cycle Show is the UK’s largest and longest-running cycling exhibition, having welcomed over 300,000 visitors since its launch in 2002.
With more than 280 exhibitors, every aspect in the cycling world is catered for including cyclo-cross racing, MTB dirt jumping plus 4 demo tracks to try out the latest road, MTB, ebikes, and kids bikes.
