A new 100km route has been added to the ever-popular Dragon Ride sportive, which will return to south Wales on Sunday June 5 next year.
The Macmillan 100, which includes the signature climbs of Bwlch and Rhigos, is designed to offer a taster of the Dragon Ride for those not quite ready to take on the Medio Fondo, Gran Fondo or Dragon Devil, which will all also be returning.
Organised by Human Race Events, the sportive regularly attracts more than 6,000 riders to take on the scenic but challenging riding through the south Welsh mountains.
Anybody who commits to raising £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support, the event’s official charity, will be able to guarantee their place in any of the four rides before the rush for entries thanks to a special entry window.
Opening from today, Tuesday September 8, the window means you can secure entry before the general sale is opened on Monday September 14, at 9am.
Nick Rusling, CEO of event organiser Human Race Events, said: “We are thrilled to confirm details of the 2016 Dragon Ride.
“We work all year round to ensure that this ride retains its outstanding reputation, and we are already very excited about what we have planned for June, including the new Macmillan 100 route.”
The Macmillan Cancer Support priority period opens on Tuesday September 8. Riders should head to www.dragonride.co.uk.
