The Giro d’Italia is just over a week away and all Italy will be hoping for a home win at the national tour.
With the corsa rosa within touching distance, the arrival on RCUK’s sister site, Mpora, of the first instalment of ‘The chronicles of the green machine’, seemed apt.
A look behind the scenes at life in the Italian team, Cannondale Pro Cycling, through the eyes of the green team’s best-known riders, including two-time Giro champion, Ivan Basso, is likely to appeal to many.
The team’s young Italian stars, Elia Viviani, and Moreno Moser, Tour of Poland champion in 2012, and winner last year of the Strade Bianche, both feature in this quirky look at the serious business of professional cycling.
Peter Sagan will take centre stage when the Grand Tour action switches to France in July, and the Tourminator, who will attempt to win his third consecutive Tour de France green jersey, is another featured in the series.
