Can you ride from London to Paris in 24 hours? That’s the challenge being set by Scope as the London to Paris 24 charity ride returns for 2016.
This July, up to 300 riders will leave Blackheath in London set for Paris. It’s a popular route for charity or touring cyclists but this is a ride with a difference – you have just 24 hours.
After an opening 90-mile leg to Dover, riders will roll off the ferry in France and into darkness, bound for an afternoon arrival Paris, finishing under the Eiffel Tower. The ride will broken in seven legs of approximately 40 miles, with a total of 12,100 feet of climbing.
The ride is fully supported, with meals, snacks, signage and mechanics, live event timing and tracking, pace riders and back markers, pre-event training advice, medics and support vehicles, hotel accommodation and a celebratory dinner in Paris, a Eurostar return to London, and bike transfer back to London.
Scope is a charity which works with disabled people and their families and registration for London to Paris 24 costs £40 and riders have two fundraising options: a minimum fundraising commitment of £1,000, or a fundraising pledge of £600 and £500 of your own costs.
