When we got our hands on some Kalf kit this summer, we were incredibly impressed with the quality packed into such good value garments, whether it be the Flux Chevron jersey and bib shorts, or the windproof Flux Transition jersey – but now the British brand has launched its first range for the darker seasons.
Again, the garments are to be sold exclusively in Evans Cycles stores, and they aim to repeat the high quality feel and construction of the spring/summer pieces while maintaining a competitive price point.
The range includes a full ensemble of kit that a cyclist might need for winter, from arm and leg warmers to full-blown thermal tights and gloves. We’ve had a look at the pieces that have caught our eye.
Kalf Club Thermal Men’s Bib Tights (£100)
For the deep winter months when warmers simply won’t do, it’s time to break out the bib tights. The Kalf Thermal Bib Tights feature a made-in-Italy thermal Roubaix fabric for warmth and comfort, while it’s also said to be resistant to high humidity in the form of freezing mist and fog.
The top half boasts a zip-up section that covers the midriff, while the seams are placed across the entirety of the leg for reduced chance of chafing, according to Kalf. The backs of the legs also feature Kalf’s distinctive chevron design in a reflective print, while an Italian ‘Elastic Interface’ chamois provides the padding.
