Entries for the fourth edition of the early-season Endura Lionheart Cyclosportive open on Friday November 8.
Voted among the top sportives of 2013, the ride starts and ends on the Longleat Estate – home of the Longleat Safari Park.
And organisers are looking for 1,500 ‘lion tamers’ – the same as last year’s expanded event – to tackle the 100 mile or 110km routes on offer on Sunday March 23.
Both routes have been adapted for 2014 after last year’s event – supposedly marking the coming of spring – saw riders battling snow and icy rain in the Wiltshire hills.
Organised by Spin Events, both still offer challenging climbs on wide, twisting roads however, coupled with the picturesque views of the famous grounds and its surrounding areas.
Cycling fans local to the area are also being called upon to spend an evening with journalist and best-selling author Chris Sidwells.
Sidwells will be discussing his book, The Long Race to Glory, at The Works Canteen, Frome, from 7.30pm on Friday November 1.
