The Colombian's journey from Belfast to Trieste through the lens of Stefano Sirotti

Nairo Quintana confirmed his place among cycling’s elite, blasting to victory in the 97th edition of the Giro d’Italia.

The 24-year-old Colombian showed strength, quality and resilience beyond his years to overturn a big deficit in the final week with a climbing masterclass that left his rivals trailing.

Quintana was untouchable on Val Martello, and in similarly imperious form when he tackled the mountain time trial on Cima Grappa to seal the first Grand Tour win of his career.

Relive his journey from Ireland to Italy and to the Senza Fine through the lens of UCI World Tour photographer Stefano Sirotti in the full-width gallery below.
