Cherubim Sticky – first look
Every once in a while a machine rolls through the gates of RCUK Towers that really sets our blood racing. The Cherubim Sticky is just such a machine: a custom made, all-steel racing bike from Japan, meticulously crafted by master framebuilder, Shin-ichi Konno from super-slim Kasei tubing.
There have been no corners cut by Soho bike shop, Kinoko Cycles, suppliers of the Sticky, in the build of our test bike, which is dressed in a full Shimano Ultegra 6800 groupset and which rolls on our ‘go to’ wheelset, Mavic’s excellent all-rounder, the Ksyrium Elite S. The finishing kit is from Zipp and Fizik, and the aforementioned wheels are shod with voluminous Continental Grand Prix Classic tyres.
We’ll be testing the Sticky in the weeks ahead but we’ll start the ball rolling with a detailed first look at this idiosyncratic machine, whose high quality chassis carries a £2,300 price tag.
