Nairo Quintana’s Canyon Ultimate CF SLX
Nairo Quintana’s Canyon Ultimate CF SLX
Nairo Quintana finished last season on a Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 but, with his Movistar team changing bike sponsors, switched to to a Canyon Aeroad CF for the new campaign and then opted for the German firm’s super-light Ultimate CF SLX at the Giro d’Italia.
Quintana’s bike, which we saw in Belfast ahead of the Grande Partenza, was dressed with a Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset – the Colombian, unlike Vincenzo Nibali, clearly a convert to electronic shifting.
High-set levers clearly differentiate Quintana from his Grand Tour rivals, while – back in May, at least – he had resisted the lure to adopt LOOK’s new Keo Blade 2 pedals, sticking instead with the previous model.
A power2max Type S power meter and Campagnolo Bora Ultra 35 carbon hoops complete the look of a bike which was transformed for the final stage in Treviso with a striking pink paint-job.
