Superlight Racing
We reviewed the existing SLR in September 2012 and were impressed by the super-stiff and featherweight ride – and Boardman have dropped another 100g from the weight. That means the claimed frame weight is now 798g, which puts it on par with many of the lightest frames on the market.
That will make the basis of a very light bike but you’ll have to build it yourself as Boardman are only offering the SLR as a frameset in the UK for £1,399.99. Outside the UK? The SLR 9.8 will come with SRAM Red 22, and with a claimed weight of 6.4kg, while built up with SRAM’s second-from-top Force groupset, the SLR 9.4 is still bang-on the UCI’s weight limit at 6.8kg.
