Cervélo has identified a potential safety issue involving the down tube loosening or separating from the head tube on a limited number of R2.5 frames. Although the 2005 R2.5 carbon road frame passed all the standard industry frame tests, this particular problem was not uncovered during those standard frame tests; Cervélo has now discontinued the R2.5 model.

Recalled 2005 R2.5 frames will be replaced free of charge with an R3 model, and a new seat post in the correct size. The currently produced R3 carbon road frame does not use the same lug design and is not susceptible to this problem. Please contact your Cervélo dealer with any further questions. The recall is for the R2.5 frame and seat post only, and does not cover a replacement fork or any other components
How to check if your R2.5 is covered by the recall
Visit www.Cervelo.com/r25recall and follow the directions on the website to verify if your frame is recalled using the serial number database. IMPORTANT: only frames sold with serial numbers greater than R251700 are eligible for this recall. All eligible numbers start with “R25” and are followed by four numbers. When you enter the four numbers make sure you do not enter “S” for a “5”, an “L” for a “1” or the letter “O” in place of a zero
