dhb Turbulence Windproof Jacket
A windproof jacket is essential at this time of year: a lightweight garment, foldable into the rear pocket of a jersey at a push, and with reflective detailing. dhb promise protection from light rain and road spray as well as breathability from their Turbulence jacket. In our experience ventilation tends to suffer as a direct consequence of protection from the elements, but we’ll reserve judgment. An area on which we can offer immediate comment, however, is the fit, which is excellent; close, but not restrictive.
The Turbulence jacket has all the recognisable features of a windproof jacket, including a high collar (fleece lined – a nice touch) and elasticated cuff. There’s a mesh panel at the pit that runs along the underside of the sleeve as far as the elbow in one direction and down the side panel of the torso in the other for ventilation. The narrow hem, another component of all the windproof jackets we’ve tried, is present and correct here and one we expect to seal out the wind and prevent the jacket from filling like a balloon.
The dhb turbulence jacket comes in blue, red, or black, and in six sizes from X-Small to Extra Extra Large. It costs £44.99.
