dhb Merino Short Sleeve Base Layer
One of the few consolations of winter, for this correspondent at least, is the opportunity to wear a merino base layer. Some wear them year-round, but the cooler months of autumn and winter are those that do greatest justice to the garment’s warmth and coziness. An early fitting suggests that wearing dhb’s base layer will be no different.
It’s billed as superfine merino, which seems accurate, although we’d argue that Rapha’s, one of our ‘go to’ winter items, is finer (it’s also £60). dhb’s offering offers a close fit, which, combined with the softness of the material, delivers a feel-good factor that we hope will be replicated out on the road. Time, and our review, will tell.
