Endura Stealth-Lite Biblong waterproof tight
A fully waterproof tight is a new one on us, and a garment we’re keen to try. The fabric is its most striking feature, subtly different in appearance, but radically different in feel to conventional lycra. It’s another ‘technical’ fabric from Toray – the ‘Entrant’ – and one also used in the manufacture of ski-wear and snowboard clothing.
Like the Stealth II jacket, the panels are ultrasonically welded, and as such, the Stealth-Lite bib-tight is manufactured sans insert and must be worn over a padded short. Happily, we have such items in abundance and will experiment with lined shorts for winter use and summer shorts to see which performs best beneath this idiosyncratic garment.
The fit is close, but many of the features are large, notably the 200mm zips at the end of each leg and the 80mm wide, brushed lycra braces which feel cosy and comfortable. The deep stomach panel, also lined, and whose two halves are united with a 200mm zip, promises more of the same. The ankle zips, laser cut and bonded, are flanked by reflective strips, and there are reflective Endura logos on both thighs, as well as a reflective panel on the front of each ankle.
