Winter is very much with us, and the country remains embattled by strong winds and seemingly endless rain. The arrival of a consignment of items from Hincapie Sports’ Arenberg collection is timely.
The Greenville, South Carolina brand run by former pro, George Hincapie, and his brother, Rich, clothes cyclists of varying levels of dedication and ability, from weekend warriors to dedicated racers.
We’ll be rolling out in the Arenberg Zero Vest and the matching leg warmer, and when the rain comes down (a certainty) we’ll be reaching for the Elemental rain jacket.
A final note: the striking jersey, arm warmers, bib-short and gloves shown in the photographs is from Hincapie Sports’ new Vantage collection, one high on tecnical features and intended for spring. When we see that happy season again on UK soil, these garments will be the first we’ll reach for.
In the meantime, we’ll take a closer look at the three garments from the Arenberg collection, one named for the most brutal section of pavé in arguably cycling’s most brutal race: the Trouée d’Arenberg secteur of Paris-Roubaix.
