Team Belkin will ride the Bianchi Infinito CV through the cobbled Classics season, starting with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday.
The Dutch team switched bike sponsors from Giant to Bianchi at the start of 2014 and while the Italian manufacturer’s Oltre XR2 is the weapon of choice for much of the season, the Infinito CV comes into its own on the cobbles of northern Europe.
The Infinito CV was unveiled ahead of last year’s Paris-Roubaix in April 2013, when Bianchi sponsored Vacansoleil-DCM. The frame utilises Bianchi’s Countervail technology, which is said to cancel road vibrations before the reach the rider, thereby reducing muscle fatigue.
Paris-Roubaix runner-up Sep Vanmarcke will lead Team Belkin at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, alongside Lars Boom, Maarten Wynants, Maarten Tjallingii and Bram Tankink.
