At a penny under £100, Shimano’s R107 shoes kick-off the Japanese brand’s top-end Competition range and borrow many of the features found on the more expensive R170 shoes.
Shimano’s Dynalast technology is said to create a more efficient, comfortable pedaling platform, with particular attention paid to the shape of the toe section, while the shoe is made from a stretch-resistant synthetic leather with mesh sections to improve breathability.
The R107 also has also has offset straps design to relieve pressure on the top of the foot and a ratchet buckle to offer a fine-tuned fit. Finally, a central carbon fibre plate in the sole increases the rigidity of the fiberglass-reinforced nylon.
