British time trial champion Alex Dowsett is riding his first Tour de France – and this is the Movistar rider’s Canyon Aeroad CF SLX for the job in hand.
The Aeroad CF SLX is one of two bikes available to the Movistar squad, alongside the updated 2016 Ultimate CF SLX. While the new Ultimate seeks to blends super-low weight, comfort and aerodynamics, the Aeroad is an all-out aero machine, and that undoubtedly appeals to a time trialist like Dowsett.
Dowsett finished 13th in the opening time trial, but crashed heavily on stage four, requiring six stitches in his arm. However, the 26-year-old will fight on in support of team-mate and overall contender Nairo Quintana.
Let’s run the rule over Tour debutant Dowsett’s Campagnolo Super Record EPS-equipped Canyon Aeroad CF SLX.
