SKS Chromoplastics mudguards are legendary; with sturdy stainless steel fitments, a near-unbreakable plastic guard with aluminium centre strip and a rear reflector plus front mudflap, they are the ‘guards of choice for most road cycles built to take them.
Silver has always been the traditional colour, with a dark shade described as black offered as an alternative. The latest finish offered by SKS is a brilliant white, which is “in” the plastic rather than applied as a coating.
In every other respect the same as standard SKS Chromoplastics mudguards, these white ones took about an hour to fit, resist all temptation to rattle and look, well, pretty damn good – on the right bike.
One small thing; they get dirty incredibly quickly and show oil spots off to perfection. Live with this and they add that special touch to any bike with a suitable colour scheme.
SKS Race Blades are also available with the same white colouring. The road guards come in three widths: 700×20-28c, 700×35-38c and 700×38-45c. MTB versions are available at a £2 premium.
