The Sportful Long Sleeve T High Collar is the type of base layer that is tiny when you pull it from the box, but the incredible amount of stretch in the fabric ensures it wraps around the contours of your body with ease.

It’s made from an 85 per cent nylon meryl and 15 per cent polyester mix which is very soft to touch and first impressions suggest that, and the seamless construction, should make it a winter favourite.

That, of course, depends on its ability to keep the rider warm while also wicking sweat away from the skin. The base layer, available in black and white, and in four sizes from S/M to XXL, is part of Sportful’s Active 100 range, which they say is most suitable for “moderate temperatures”.
