Following the decision last year by the UCI to enforce its “3:1” regulation governing the ration of chord (length) to thickness of any cycle component of non-circular “aerodynamic” cross section, aero handlebar specialist Vision has redesigned its two base bar designs both to comply with the regulation and to offer improved ergonomics along with internal brake cable routing.
Both aluminium and carbon base bars, which will be on sale in the UK from mid-June, have a 31.8mm diameter centre bulge extending sideways to accommodate clip-on tribar clamps and feature a “zero-degree flat wing” profile.
Weighing a claimed 207g, the Carbon OS Base Bar has a 3K twill finish, a centre to centre width of 410mm and an SSP of £279.99 while the Team Alloy OS Base Bar has a black-anodised finish, weighs 237g, is available in 400mm and 420mm widths and is priced at £74.95.
