Wilier Montegrappa
The Montegrappa, Wilier’s entry-level, double-butted, 7005 aluminium frame, is unchanged for model year 2015 but gets a new red, black and grey colourway.
“It’s a little more race-focused than the Strada, but has the same kind of ethos, so it’s an entry-level bike that people are going to be commuting on, doing the odd sportive,” said Izzard.

If the name, Montegrappa, sounds familiar, then it’s a nod to the climb of the same name in the Veneto region of Italy, used for the stage 19 individual time trial at this year’s Giro d’Italia.
Back to the bike, and the 2015 Montegrappa will cost £775 in a build based around a Shimano Sora groupset (with Tektro R312 brakes and a compact FSA Vero chainset), the same 32-spoke Shimano Claris wheelset as the Strada, Promax finishing kit and a Selle San Marco Era saddle.
