Cycle Show 2011: Condor Terra-X Disc 'cross bike

Cable operated disc caliper

Built up with cockpit components from Sussex-based USE,  the Terra-X Disc cyclo-cross bike is a prototype by Condor Cycles designed to offer stronger braking, enhanced mud clearance and reduced mud build-up, compared to a machine equipped with the discipline’s traditional cantilever brakes.

Based on the standard Terra-X, the Disc model features Shimano BR-R505 cable-operated disc brake calipers, which are compatible with road-type brake levers and permit the use of dual control gear shifting.

Curved top tube adds arm room

Boasting a curved top tube designed to make easier shouldering the cycle for carriage over obstacles, the frame is constructed using Dedacciai EM2 triple-butted scandium-aluminium alloy tubing and wears Condor’s Pro-Cross full-carbon fork; sizes run from 46cm to 61cm via 49, 52, 55 and 58cm intervals with two colour choices: team limited edition and chocolate brown/blue.
