Calling all riders looking for an early-season leg-stretcher – the Spring Onion 3-Mobile Sportive will take place on Sunday March 13.
The ride, set to be between 110-120km, heads out of Leatherhead Football Club before taking on a revised route which covers the North Downs, Leith Hill, Forest Green, Wallis Wood, Bedham Hill, Wisborough Green, Kirdford, Hascombe, Albury and finally the super-steep White Down.
The Spring Onion is in its fifth year and continues to build upon its tough reputation – approximately 300 started in 2010 and this year’s entries are initially capped at 600, with organisers already closing in on 500 riders.
Features include a clearly marked route, chip timing, handlebar numbers, sag wagon/support, upgraded feed stations and PowerBar nutrition at the start.
Entry costs £18 before Monday February 21. Head over to www.thespringonion.co.uk to book your place.
The Spring Onion’s organisers are also the brains behind the Gran Fondo Luciano Sportive on Sunday June 26.
The 120km route winds its way through the Surrey Hills, taking on the likes of Box Hill’s Zig Zag and Turners Hill.
Entry costs £20 and can be made online at www.granfondoluciano.co.uk
