The 2011 Hammersmith Cyclists Film Show on Sunday January 30 will pay tribute to former British pro Brian Robinson.
Robinson was the first Briton to complete the Tour de France, finishing 29th in 1955, and first to win a stage in 1958, before repeating the feat in 1959 – winning stage 20 by 20 minutes.
The 80-year-old Robinson also won the Dauphiné-Libéré in 1961.
Extracts from his biography, Brian Robinson: Pioneer, will be read by its author Graeme Fife at the Riverside Studios show.
There will be extracts from a previously unseen film about Robinson by Ray Pascoe, as well as footage of him in the 1953 Tour of Britain, and the film biography of Robinson’s team-mate, Irishman Shay Elliott.
The Hammersmith Cyclists Film Show normally sells out and advance booking is strongly recommended.
Tickets cost £8.50 (£7.50 for concessions) and are available through www.riversidestudios.co.uk or by calling 020 8237 1111.
