Just a handful of spaces remain for the third Midland Monster Sportive – due to take place this Sunday, May 22.
The 103-mile event starts and finishes at the Rosliston Forestry Centre, near Burton -on-Trent, heading into the lower Peak District before following a rolling route back from Ashbourne, with the amount of climbing packed into last year’s event even suprising national hill-climb champion Dan Fleeman, according to the organisers.
A shorter 76-mile route is also on offer, along with a 15-mile family ride around the Forestry Centre. Two feed stations will keep riders fuelled, while a drink and meal awaits all finishers.
Sign-on begins at 7.30am with the long route starting in small groups between 8-9am and up to 9.30am for the shorter ride. Both routes will be timed and have a roving mechanical service, as well as a broom wagon to pick up stray riders.
Entry for the two sportive rides costs £27, while the family ride, which starts at 11.00am, is free to enter.
