Rapha are planning a series of cycle rides around the world in support of the victims of the worst disaster in Japan in half a century.
For the last four years, Rapha has had a team of riders based in Nagano, Japan, who have been documenting their rides, the Yonretto, on Rapha.cc. The devastation after the earthquake and following tsunami is enormous, and Rapha will be supporting Japan by holding a global series of rides. Anyone can take part and participants will be asked to make a donation prior to getting on the bike and taking to the roads in support of Japan.
Riders are asked to donate a minimum of £10 to take part and the amount donated will be matched by Rapha. All rides can be found on Rapha Rendezvous iPhone app.
Donations to the Japanese Red Cross can be made at:
In London, “Rapha Rides For Tohoku” is this Sunday, 20th March at 09:00hrs. The start is at Barnet Cinema. “Rapha Rides For Tohoku” is not a race, but a social ride in support of Japan.
