The forthcoming Santini Sportive, due to take place on July 3, has been cancelled.
The event, run in conjunction with the National Trust and Votwo, had 50 and 80-mile routes on offer through the Dorset countryside.
“Despite high levels of interest, the planned event on July 3 at Kingston Lacey has been withdrawn from the diary as it clashes with the Dorset Bike Ride in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support,” read a Santini statement.
“Santini does not in any way want to compete or to take potential riders away from such a valuable and worthwhile cause and as such another event is being planned for later in the year. Full details of this new event will follow.
“In the mean time more information on the Dorset Bike Ride can be found at www.macmillanbikeride.com
“Everyone at Santini sends their thanks and apologies for any inconvenience caused to those who have supported us in the months leading up to this sportive.”
