Dragon Ride sold out

Spacious new departure road

The Dragon Ride Wales has sold out, despite the event not taking place until 14 June, with 3000 riders signed up.

Riders still wishing to gain entry are urged to check sportive websites as well as the Dragon Ride site regularly for the availability of transfers.

“This is truly fantastic news for cycling in the UK and of course for South Wales,” commented organiser Lou Lusardi of BreakAway Cycling. “I don’t think anyone would have predicted just how strong the market still is and, more than that, we are terribly proud of, and grateful for, the loyalty of the thousands of riders who have become part of the Dragon Ride family over the half decade we have pioneered this type of ride in Britain.”

The 2009 Dragon Ride Wales will take place on Sunday 14 June over 189.2km for the Gran Fondo or 130.7km for the Medio Fondo, both starting and finishing in the impressive Pencoed Technology Park.
