Tickets still available as Essex ace enters final phase of preparations

Alex Dowsett’s UCI Hour Record attempt will be broadcast live on Britsh Eurosport 2 this weekend.

Dowsett will attempt to break Rohan Dennis’ mark of 52.491km on Saturday (May 2) and – alongside tickets being available to watch live in Manchester – the #PerfectHour will be broadcast live on Eurosport.

Coverage will begin at 1pm after Dowsett had to cancel his original attempt, which was also to be broadcast live on the channel, due to an injury picked up in a training crash.

The Commonwealth Games time trial champion has bounced back, however, and has been in the wind tunnel as his preparations enter the final phases.

Dowsett is looking to become the first Brit to break the Hour Record since Chris Boardman in 2000 – the time trial legend’s attempt having also taken place at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

Tickets, which can be purchased here, cost £11 for adults and £8 for under-16s. Doors open at 11.30am.
