Britain hosted the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup for the first time this year, with five thousand ‘cross fans heading to Milton Keynes to see their heroes up close.
Among the riders on show was legendary Belgian Sven Nys, whose ride was filmed throughout the day.
For an appreciation of the atmosphere and the skill and fitness required for ‘cross – from clipping off and on to carrying and attacking the muddy slopes hard – it is all there.
Though some parts of the race are missed due to the camera bike being in the pits, the video is a great insight into how arguably the greatest ever raced.
