Adam Yates (Orica-GreenEDGE)
Adam Yates (Orica-GreenEDGE)
Another Tour debutant, Adam Yates raced his Grand Tour at the Vuelta a Espana last year to cap a fine maiden year at WorldTour level.
A top-ten place at Tirreno-Adriatico this year has added to his burgeoning reputation and alongside brother Simon he will be keen to impress his Orica-GreenEDGE bosses further this year.
Yates struggled at the National Championships, but the 22-year-old has shown he shouldn’t be discontinued and he will be out to seek opportunities to shine in the mountains.
Like his brother this year, Yates shone at the Criterium du Dauphine 12 months ago and so the Alpine mountains should hold little for him to fear and instead plenty to exploit.
