Alex Dowsett confirmed his hour record attempt will take place at Revolution at the Lee Valley VeloPark in February.
The three-time former national time trial champion, 26, won Commonwealth Games gold against the clock this year and proved his hardman credentials with a stunning ride in the break alongside current record holder Matthias Brandle at the Tour of Britain.
Brandle followed that stunning ride, which resulted in Dowsett taking the overall lead as Brandle won the stage, by breaking the hour record and Essex ace Dowsett is certainly capable of following suit.
Dowsett is also no stranger to the track, having been a regular face at the Revolution Series and earning the runners-up spot in the National Madison Championships, alongside Joe Holt, in October.
Dowsett’s skill against the clock is no secret and he continues to prove himself as a contender on the road.
A shot at the hour record will come at Revolution, like Storey, and could provide the perfect start to what looks likely to be a pivotal season for Dowsett, who has committed another three seasons on the road with Movistar.
